Quick Immune Boosting Chyawanprash Recipe

Chyawanprash is very easy to make and offers many benefits for mindfulness, digestive system, and metabolism. Chyawanprash can be eaten directly or with milk. It keeps the body energized if consumed with milk in the morning. Chyawanprash must be avoided during pregnancy due to its ‘Agni -Fire’ generating properties. Anyone above the age of two years can consume it. The suggested serving is one-two tsp per day. This is a preservative and sugar-free recipe, but Jaggery can be substituted with Sugar if needed. Chyawanprash can be stored for two-three weeks if refrigerated!

Ingredients:

  • 8-10 Gooseberries
  • 1 Glass Water
  • 2 Tsp Ghee
  • Half cup Jaggery
  • 12-15 pcs Dates
  • 2 tbsp chopped Almonds
  • 1tbsp Fennel seeds
  • 1tbsp Black pepper
  • 1tbsp Dry ginger powder
  • 1 tsp Nutmeg powder
  • 1tsp Cardamom powder
  • ½ tsp Saffron strands
  • 2 Bayleaf

Method:

  • Add a glass of water and chopped gooseberries to a pressure cooker. Let it cook on a medium flame for at least two-three whistles
  • Finely blend all the spices and nuts (Except Dates, Ghee, and Jaggery)
  • Once gooseberries are cooked, turn off the flame and remove excess water
  • Blend gooseberries and dates to make a puree
  • On a medium flame, In a pan, add ghee and let it warm a bit, then add gooseberry puree, blended spices & nuts mix
  • Keep stirring and let it cook for five minutes. 
  • Add Jaggery and mix well. Let it cook for 12-15 minutes or until a thick texture is formed
  • Let it cool for an hour and then transfer in an air-tight glass jar
